During the game, each team gets 20 overs (batting turns), with each over consisting of 6 legal deliveries (i.e., 6 valid balls bowled).
A team’s batting innings ends when they complete 20 overs or when all 10 batters are dismissed (All Out). If the chasing team successfully reaches the target score within 120 balls, the match ends early.
Who would have thought that the Indian Premier League (IPL) would successfully restructure the format of international cricket?
International matches used to follow the 50-over format (ODI), and the Asia Cup was no exception. However, with the rise of the short-format IPL, the ICC introduced the T20 Cricket World Cup. If the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup are held in the same year, the Asia Cup’s format will be adjusted to T20I.
